SYNOPSIS

Jolene and Jason come together to help Jolene’s sister and Jason’s best friend (Jolene’s brother in law) move. They’re tasked with driving the U-Haul of their furniture down to their new place. They’ve previously met at the wedding, and they didn’t get along. Now they have to spend at least two days together in tight quarters. What could possibly happen?

RECAP AND REVIEW

This book is told in a dual perspective between Jolene and Jason. They go from enemies to lovers to friends with benefits. This is an opposites attract romance with an age gap and a one bed trope.

Jolene is extroverted. She’s the type of person to talk to people she doesn’t know everywhere she goes. She is passionate about her work in PR. She can also be impulsive and not take things seriously.

Jason is a dentist who is introverted and likes order and structure. He has a routine and sticks to his boundaries. He is close with his mom and would do anything for her.

The first half of the story follows their road trip and the second half is afterwards. A part of me is glad the whole story wasn’t their road trip but another part wanted to see more of them together. Struggling to find time is apart of life though, so it is realistic.

The second half also focuses on Jolene’s job and issues that arise there. I think it was added to show that she is focused on a career over a serious relationship.

There are cute moments of Jolene and Jason running into each other unexpectedly both casually and in the workplace. They have a two fights, one of them being the third act break.

The third act break makes sense. They both want different things until they don’t, and get on the same page. Some harsh words are said, but it opens their eyes and shows different parts of each person.

OVERALL

Overall, I give this 3 out of 5 stars. It was a quick, cute romance.
