RECAP AND REVIEW

Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review! All opinions are mine.

Out now! Available through Kindle Unlimited.

This is currently a standalone, contemporary, romance book told from the first person of Farrah.

Farrah is our plus-size and confident FMC, who commands a room. She loves styling and showing her personality through clothes.

Errol is bothered from her the minute he meets her, taking her confidence for arrogance. He is passionate about directing, but gets in his own head sometimes.

I enjoyed Farrah. She self-admittedly has an attitude, is getting over a breakup, and cares deeply (sometimes to a fault). She’s not insecure, even when others think she should be, and she doesn’t water herself down or dim her light, (and she shouldn’t have to). I would even say, that some of the way she comes off and is treated by others is because of her size. The difference between confidence and arrogance can be perception.

Errol matched her energy. He wasn’t afraid of speaking his mind and giving her attitude back, arguing even when he was wrong. I liked him too and liked learning about him through her. I was not missing his point of view.

With time, a friendship forms that was natural and honest to me. I loved reading them open themselves up and get to know each other, while recognizing their own faults.

The book was relatively fast-paced for me, so it didn’t feel like too much of a slow burn, even though it kind of is. The story took a turn different than I was expecting, but I’m not mad at it at all.

That one character is horrible though (by design) and I didn’t think they deserved as much grace as they were given, though it makes sense for the characters.

OVERALL

Overall, I give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I liked how social aspects were weaved into the story and I really liked these characters and the conversations they had. It was fun seeing Farrah and Errol together, both when they were beefing and when they were friendly.
