RECAP AND REVIEW
Thank you NetGalley, Berkley Publishing Group and Berkley Romance, and the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
Out now!
This is the second book in a romance series and is told from the first person of Stella and Thomas.
Stella owns a set of bakeries, known for their macaroons. She is trying not let her sudden break up get to her and rediscover herself again.
Thomas is a F1 driver and wants to move past his scandal. Though what happened isn’t really his fault, the optics of it are bad and his words were said in the heat of the moment.
A joint bachelor and bachelorette party brings these two together and I was hooked from the first conversation they had. Stella is witty and confident, even when she’s faking her confidence, and Thomas matches her energy and sense of humor. The banter had me giggling and laughing and I love them together and separately.
A drunken night leads to a drunken marriage and I also had a good time with how they navigated figuring out their next steps. It all made sense to me.
And what would a marriage of convenience be if there weren’t rules in place to keep the arrangement in check? I enjoyed how it all played out on the front.
The end dragged a little, I think because of the third act “break up” situation. Though I get why it was in there, I didn’t enjoy it. Also, the family challenges that popped up got resolved either fairly quickly or off page, which in the grand scheme of things didn’t matter too much for me, but is worth noting.

Overall I give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. The chemistry and the banter between the two leads carried the story for me.
