SYNOPSIS
Kadeesha was meant to be more than the wife of a repulsive, ancient fae king. She’s a warrior, a princess, and a business woman, who doesn’t appreciate her father passing her off to be married just because of a prophecy.

RECAP AND REVIEW
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Happy 1 week of being released!
This is currently a standalone dark romantasy book told in the third person from both Malachi’s and Kadeesha’s perspective.
I enjoyed both Malachi and Kadeesha for different reasons.
Malachi is arrogant and unapologetic in his ruthlessness and I loved it. I enjoyed seeing him in his fight for revenge and how protective he was over those he loved.
Kadeesha does what needs to be done. She is a warrior at heart, but also has moments of care and thoughtfulness over fae’s lives. She wants to empower women in this world and emerges as a leader in a male-dominated space.
How the two get to know each other was too fun to spoil. They definitely match each other’s energy. I love main characters that talk their shit and have a good chemistry. Malachi and Kadeesha delivered!
The politics of the world was also pretty interesting. Both of their backgrounds are tragic in different ways because of the politics of the world.
Read for:
👑 Black fae
👑 Dark romantasy
👑 Enemies-to-lovers
👑 Prophecies told
👑 Open door
👑 Political intrigue
OVERALL
Overall, I give this a 4.25 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately, the pacing didn’t do it for me as there were a few moments of info dumping and exposition. However, I really enjoyed the characters and the vibes of this book and I definitely recommend!
