RECAP AND REVIEW
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for a copy!
This is currently a standalone romance book told in the third person from both Max and Stella.
Stella is a writer, Max owns an AI company. Can you see how things may get complicated?
The use of AI was timely and had a good message, showing how something seemingly harmless can cause harm in the long run, but I wasn’t a fan of how it played out, specifically with Stella’s side of it.
I really enjoyed the writing style of this book. It is technically good and kept me engaged in the story.
The two leads go together. While their relationship moved fast by the end of the book, faster for my taste, I did think that they worked together.
I wasn’t into the roommate storyline, though it was realistic and I get why it was included. I think it was hard for me to view their relationship as an actual friendship so I didn’t haven’t any stakes in them fixing their disconnect.
Since so much of this book felt realistic, the way a few of the storylines wrapped up took me out of the story because they felt fantastical in comparison.

OVERALL
Overall I give this a 4.25 out of 5 stars. I liked the first half more than the second half, but the writing of this book was top tier and kept me engaged. I will be exploring this author’s catalogue!
