Who is the most confident person you know?
In my late teenage, early twenties years in college, I had a habit of putting people on pedestals. Other people were prettier or more confident or more self assured. I admired how other people carried themselves and I wanted that for myself.
It sounds ridiculous, but as I got older I realized that no one is perfect and everyone has insecurities. I could adopt practices that made me feel prettier or more confident or more self assured. I could find my personal style and routine to help with my self esteem.
So, to answer the question I don’t know who the most confident person I know is because my brain, which thinks literally sometimes, doesn’t see confidence as something that’s measured in this way. I see confidence as more personal because we assume how confident someone is. How we all perceive confidence varies and our confidence levels can depend on the action or the situation or our feelings that day.
Confidence is always equated with extroversion and public speaking, but to me, confidence looks like accepting and uplifting others. It’s being relatively nonjudgmental because you’re sure of yourself. It’s going outside of your comfort zone.
What does confidence look like to you?
