RECAP AND REVIEW
Thank you to the author for an arc in exchange for an honest review!
Happy belated release day 🥰
This is the second book in an interconnected romance series. I love the first book bad.
The story follows Rayne navigating her campaign run and secret relationship and D.K. technically working against her while also being one of her biggest supporters.
Rayne’s love and care of the town, small businesses, and the waterfront was clear. She came across as someone who handled business, connects with people well, and can stay cool, calm, and collected under pressure. While she means business, she’s also soft and flirty. She’s literally a boss babe and I enjoyed reading about her.
D.K. is thoughtful and caring and damn near perfection. He’s a hard worker (sometimes to a fault), but he’s very good at whatever he puts his mind too.
D.K. And Rayne are pretty similar in their values and personalities, and they just make sense together. From the moment they met it was clear they were perfect for each other and even though it was a complicated situation, I’m glad they said fuck it!
The ending put me on an emotional rollercoaster, but I think it was poetic and a perfect ending to the story. I want more of them 😭

Overall, I give this a 5 out of 5 stars. This is the first I’ve finished in over a month and it was so good! I highly recommend it. This book has a little bit of everything: work drama, sweet family moments, a steamy, passionate, and healthy romance, and a couple worth rooting for.
And I’m toooo excited for the next book! 🙂↕️
